Terra Cotta Lamp (01.0001.6)

Byzantine 324-638 CE
These lamps were widely exported to Mediterranean countries and imitated locally. Many have been excavated in ancient Carthage some scholars suggest Tunesia as their exclusive origin, also Egypt and Cyrenaica.
Note: red slip, alternating circles on rim and lozenges on discus with palm tree two small filling holes.
